The 18th European Congress on Extracorporeal Circulation Technology will be held in Italy in the city of Salerno, from June 12th to 14th, 2019. On behalf of the Executive Board and the Committee Members of the Foundation European Congress on Extracorporeal Circulation Technology (FECECT), it is my pleasure to invite you to participate in this congress.
The FECECT congress will be a dynamic forum in which perfusionists, health care providers, clinical researchers and scientists working in the field of extracorporeal circulation technologies can network. Participants will have the opportunity to share their clinical experiences, as well as research and development in the field of extracorporeal circulation technologies with colleagues from Europe, and beyond. FECECT invites abstracts from those wishing to share scientific information and the latest advances in the field, as well as continuing education. The abstracts will undergo a selection process to ensure they meet the criteria for the conference and in order to guarantee high standards.
During the congress we will host an International Trade Exhibition of the leading companies in the field of Cardiovascular Surgery and Perfusion. It is the intention of FECECT that the congress will be an interdisciplinary event, and we hope that the information shared by experts in their fields will advance professional knowledge on new medical devices, protocols, technologies, and other related areas.
Salerno is a beautiful city in the south-west of Italy, situated in the Gulf of Salerno, on the Tyrrhenian sea. It is located between two of the most famous Italian coasts, the Amalfi Coast and the Cilento Coast.Salerno has many impressive monuments and attractions, such as the Arechi Castle and Saint Matthew’s Cathedral amongst others. It was the birthplace of thefirst medical school, the”Schola Medica Salernitana”founded in the 16th century. This early medical school was the most important source of medical information in Europe at the time, and established an important basis for medical education in Europe. Salerno is an ideal stopping off point on the way to Paestum, Pompei or Positano. Equally the Cilento and Vallodi Diano National Park, which is a lesser known UNESCO World Heritage site, is easily accessible from Salerno. During the congress the award ceremonial diner will be part of the social programme for accompanying guests, there will be discovery tours organized of the city and the region.
The success of the Congress depends on your active participation in the discussion and social events, and I hope many delegates from around the world will come to Salerno to participate in the 18thEuropean Congress on Extracorporeal Circulation Technology.
On behalf of FECECT I invite you to participate in our congress programme.
